Uwe Scharwächter

Uwe Scharwächter has been active in the life science industry for more than 25 years. During this time he held different executive and senior management positions at Hoechst, Hexal, Sandoz and Aenova. In his last role as VP TechOps & SCM Strategy for Aenova, he was responsible for building and improving a global production network and strategic engineering projects of 16 sites. Following a M&A strategy Uwe has integrated all sites from Dragenopharm GmbH, Swiss Caps AG, Temmler Pharma GmbH and Haupt Pharma GmbH into one operations network. This included six site-closures with the respective significant savings. Within that period, he has also taken care of optimizing SCM processes and the implementation of an Operational Excellence system.

Prior to this he was managing production sites and departments at Sandoz and Hexal, focusing on production costs, capacity utilization, customer service and operational excellence.

Uwe graduated as pharmacist from the University Bonn. His expertise includes a broad range of pharmaceutical areas, SCM tasks and P&L and cost centre analysis. Uwe has a lot of experience in leading intercultural and cross-functional project teams, especially in terms of product transfers, restructuring processes, productivity measurements and site closures.
